September Social Media Events
I don’t know about you, but September for me sees the start of the Social Media Events for the season ahead. That’s why I have put together a list of events that happen in September. Through these events, I will also give you links to free social media templates that you can use on Canva. These social media templates are free for you to use if you have Canva Pro. If you are not a pro member of Canva, you can try Canva Free for 45 days using my affiliate link. There is no additional cost to you, and you get 45 days to try Canva for all your social media posts. (This is 50% extra free).
10 September – World Mental Health Day
One of the more important events and messages to share in September is for World Mental Health Day. With so many of us going through unexpected change over the last 18 months or more, it’s never been more important to catch up and be open about how you feel, but also to let your friends or family know you are there for them if they need someone to talk to.
To help spread this important message, I’ve put together a small selection of posters and various social media posts that you can use.

If you yourself are struggling or need help for a friend, visit https://www.samaritans.org/ to find out how you can receive help. You are never alone and there is always someone on the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can also call 116 123 from within the UK.
18 September – International Coastal Clean-up Day
International coastal clean-up happens on the third Saturday every year. It aims to help clean up our beaches from rubbish left behind or that finds its way into our oceans and seas. Trash found in the sea is harmful to wildlife and ecological systems, so it is essential to help where you can.
International Coastal Cleanup TM is an organisation set up to help fight the waste that is found in the seas and on coastlines around the world. They have been in operation for over 35 years and are helping fight ocean trash. You can find out more about them and their cause by visiting https://oceanconservancy.org/
If you’re setting up a local community coastal clean-up, you can use these social media posts and posters to engage the help of your local community.
